The Club Shack

The club shack consists of our Icom 7600, Our Yaesu FT897 and also our Kenwood 570D for field days and our Watson PSU the Yaesu DRX1 repeater For GB3YA

We have now installed the antenna for the HF bands and it hoped that soon we will have a much improved facility for DX work on these bands. This has now been completed and is working well.

The Club's thanks go to the people at Lottery Funding for all their help in putting this together, and also to all the hard working club members for sorting out the small but important jobs like getting the locked high security cupboard put in and the wiring and welding that goes with it.

The Shack itself is located in another room just adjacent to the Club common room, but is ideally located for easy access should any club members wish to use it. The Icom 7600 can look a bit daunting at first, but our Station caretaker (Kevin MW7KJC) is more than happy to advise.

Many full licence holders will be on hand to assist anyone wishing to use the shack or to loan club equipment, so please ask!....Don't forget to sign the loan book.

The shack now also boasts our GB3YA repeater (see page).

0ur repeater will also be linked to echolink and allstar in the near future.  thanks to  Ashley for the work on this one.
GB3RT is now back on the air in Yorkshire on 145.58700 well done and good luck to them..but GB3YA will be up and running shortly (NOW OPERATIONAL) when the installation of the club filters and equipment are complete. NOW ALL COMPLETE AND FUNCTIONAL . Remember repeaters are primarily for mobile use but everyone is welcome to use it.

And don't forget, the Shack and buildings are heavily alarmed with multi-point cameras, keeping you and your Club equipment safe!
