CADARS are pleased to announce that GB3RT, 70cms analogue repeater, is up and running. It is based on the Clubs' Yaesu DR-1X
144/430 Dual Band C4FM/FM Digital Repeater which covers analogue and C4FM digital signals. At the present time we only be using the analogue side for TX and RX, but will be reviewing the potential for digital at a later date. We also have the capability to fit the Yaesu WIRES system and have connections over the internet. Again, this is something that the club will review later.
GB3RT is now linked to Echolink Thanks to Ashley for his work on this GW0UXJ

When using GB3RT talking to another station on Echolink please be aware of the delay between the two modes. When a station is on Echolink at the end of their over you need to leave a 2-3 second delay before keying up to reply to them.
Also if you are talking to another station on the repeater we should all get into the habit of leaving a substantial gap for stations trying to break in on Echolink because of the delay between the two systems.
Hope to hear more of you calling in on either system for the Monday evening net on GB3RT 19.30 ish. It will certainly show the delay between the two systems so you will need to be patient.
Ogy
